Misys Healthcare Systems Partners with CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield
RALEIGH, N.C. (February 15, 2006) – Misys Healthcare Systems, a market leader in healthcare IT, today announced that it has partnered with CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CFBCBS) to provide health care professionals a direct link for claims processing, automated payment posting and eligibility checking. This direct link is designed to streamline electronic transaction processing by reducing the amount of time it takes to transmit the transaction from the health care professional's office.Misys Healthcare Systems' transaction processing clearinghouse, which expanded recently by acquiring Payerpath Inc., is one the nation's largest healthcare electronic data interchange (EDI) service providers. The company processes more than 470 million electronic transactions per year, and uses a combination of direct payer connectivity and intermediary links to connect to more than 830 insurance payers in the United States.
"Misys technology is designed to help physicians and medical groups increase revenue, dramatically reduce delays and increase reimbursement rates, while also making practice operations and claims processing more efficient," said Tom Skelton, chief executive officer of Misys Healthcare Systems. Specific details of the agreement between Misys Healthcare Systems and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield were not disclosed.
